ABOUT US

Welcome to Riverside Christian Academy, a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). It is a great privilege to join with the church and with your family to create an environment where, working together, we can nurture today’s children and develop tomorrow’s Kingdom leaders. Author and educator, Glen Schultz, has defined “kingdom education” as “a life-long, Bible-based, Christ-centered process of leading a child to Christ, building a child up in Christ, and equipping a child to serve Christ!” (Kingdom Education, 1998, p.29).

At RCA, we are committed to academic excellence; but we further desire to provide the distinctive where every student may know Jesus Christ as Savior, be continually transformed into the image of Christ, and be fully equipped to serve Christ in everyday life. Matthew 6:33 says, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” If we seek to put God first in our children’s lives, every single thing our children need to fulfill His perfect plan (not our plan – but God’s plan) for their lives will be given unto them. This is God’s promise! I look forward to answering your questions and working with your family to nurture and develop tomorrow’s Kingdom leaders.

In His Service,
Dr. Lin Wheeler, Ed.D
Superintendent

Philosophy:    The philosophy of Riverside Christian Academy is based on a God-centered view that all truth is God’s truth and that the Bible is the inspired and the only infallible, authoritative Word of God that contains this truth. God created all things, and He sustains all things. Therefore, the universe and humanity are dynamically related to God, and they have the purpose of glorifying Him. Because humans are sinners by nature and choice, they cannot glorify or know God. A person can do this only by choosing God’s free gift of salvation through His Son, thereby committing his or her life to the lordship of Jesus Christ.

Our aim in the social domain is to provide a Christian perspective on life and the world.  This perspective will produce a balanced personality and a proper understanding and acceptance of one’s role in life at home, at work, at play, and at worship—all grounded in the Christian concept of love. This philosophy channels our energies toward promoting high academic standards while helping students to achieve skills in creative and critical thinking and to integrate academic subjects with a biblical worldview. The objective of our instructional program is to enable students to become productive citizens, leaders, and family members, and to pursue the post secondary education of their choosing, whether in college, university, or vocational training.

History
  1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16).

  2. We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons--Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1, Matthew 28:19, John 10:30).

  3. We believe in the deity of Christ (John 10:33); His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:35); His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15; 7:26); His miracles (John 2:11); His vicarious and atoning , death (1 Corinthians 15:3, Ephesians 1:7, Hebrews 2:9); His resurrection (John 11:25, 1 Corinthians 15:4); His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19); His personal return in power and glory (Acts 1:11, Revelation 19:11).

  4. We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature; and that men are justified on the ground of faith alone for salvation (John 3:16-19, John 5:24, Romans 3:23; 5;8-9, Ephesians 2:8-10, Titus 3:5).

  5. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and those that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation (John 5:28-29).

  6. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 8:9, 1 Corinthians 12:12-13, Galatians 3:26-28).

We believe in the manifestation of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (Romans 8:13-14, 1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19-20, Ephesians 4:30, 5:18).

  1. We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. We believe human life begins at conception and an unborn child, at any stage of development, is a human being and should be treated as such. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life (Ps. 139).
